he never believed in much
he never saw what he needed to get by
he just did what he had to and told all the lies
because he thought they could break the ice
in the hearts of a world that wouldnt let him be
they wouldnt understand
and he was so unhappy

he only did what he felt he must

he was the best of us
and now hes gone
because they turned his heart to stone
they wouldnt let it go
but he was different
and the world was fearful
and now our hearts are heavy

we couldnt save him
though he had saved us all
we werent there to catch him
he jumped from the bridge

you scream save the children
but yet you nurtured this
a crime of nature
or so you called it
but he was beautiful
like an endangered species
that your eyes just couldnt see
and on the edge he stood and shivered
waiting for someone to be his forgiver
he did nothing wrong , but yet you begged to differ
but dont you cry for him,
because you might as well have pulled the trigger

watching in slow motion
i tried to run and stop this
but my legs were frozen solid
i stood in wonderment
he was so memorizing , he held us captivated
and what he hled inside for so long
he finally found a way to say it

and i know that to all , life is no fairy tale
and i know and i know , hs message will prevail
because all the kings horses and all the kings men
had better things to do , they all just watched and grinned
they didnt want him, in their self righteous world
and when he cried out, who will try to stop me
their mouths were open but with the wrong words escaping
they cheered on they cheered on
they didnt think he'd do it, or maybe they didnt see anything wrong

remember him as he was
in all his tortured glory
never ever forget, his tragic ending story
and in times of peril, when its too dark to see
be surrounded in the light
of his memory
